Motilal Nehru School of Sports is a government-run sports academy located in Rai, Sonipat, Haryana. It was established in the year 1973 under the aegis of the Chief Minister's Office, Haryana. The school is named after India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, and is popularly known as MNSS Rai.The school offers training in 12 different sports, including athletics, boxing, hockey, judo, karate, kabaddi, kho-kho, handball, shooting, softball, table tennis, and volleyball. The school's mission is to promote sports and physical fitness among youth, and to groom young athletes for national and international competitions.MNSS Rai has a state-of-the-art sports infrastructure, including indoor and outdoor training facilities, dormitories, and residential quarters for teachers and coaches. The school also has a well-equipped gymnasium and a sports medicine centre. The campus is also home to a library, a computer lab, and a language lab.The school has produced many national and international athletes over the years. Notable alumni include Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar (Wrestling), Olympic medallist Vijender Singh (Boxing), and Asian Games medallist Sandeep Kumar (Boxing).
